- • Why do these speakers sound "boxie" or flat compared to my factory setup?
New speakers require a break-in period to loosen up. Additionally, running them on low factory radio power causes a flat response; adding an aftermarket amplifier maximizes their mid-bass potential.
- • Will the C2-600X fit perfectly into standard 6.5-inch factory speaker door gaps?
Not always. The C2-600X is a true 6.0-inch speaker, which is slightly smaller than universal 6.5-inch models. You may need an adapter plate or spacer ring to get an airtight fit in some factory openings.
- • Why am I getting a cracking or hissing noise from the tweeters at higher volumes?
This is caused by signal clipping from pushing your radio past its clean power limits. Adding an external amplifier ensures clean, unclipped power and stops the harsh distorted noise.
- • Is it necessary to install sound-damping material alongside these speakers?
Highly recommended. The long-excursion mid-bass can rattle thin factory metal door panels. Adding a butyl sound-damping sheet around the mounting surface eliminates vibrations and cleans up the sound.
- • Why is the speaker frame not sitting completely flat against the door panel bracket?
The steel frame requires a perfectly flat surface. If the bracket is uneven, forcing the screws tight will warp the speaker frame and misalign the voice coil. Hand-tighten them evenly in a cross pattern.
- • The tweeters protrude slightly. Will they clear my stock car door grilles?
The silk dome tweeters protrude 0.55 inches past the basket rim. In exceptionally tight factory door panels, they may rub against the stock mesh, requiring a slim foam gasket or custom spacer to sink them back.
- • Can I power the C2-600X with a high-wattage amplifier without blowing them?
Yes, they handle 60W RMS continuously. You can use a larger amp (like 75W or 100W) safely as long as you keep the input gains set cleanly and use a high-pass filter (HPF) set around 60-80 Hz.
- • Why does the audio volume drop off or cut out entirely during hot days?
The speakers have integrated thermal protection lines for the tweeters. Pushing a distorted, heavily clipped signal in a hot car triggers this safety mechanism. Lower the volume slightly to let it cool down and reset.

Just got a pair of these speakers and it feels like your in a theater inside your car. Currently running it on a JL Audio 400/4 and planning get an additional two of these again. Not planning to get any sub soon as these speakers completes the sound I'm looking for.

much much better than the stock speakers in my Cherokee. hooked everything up with my Kicker amp and everything sounds better ever since. loud as hell, but clean, and its hard to identify if it can go distorted as I’ve tried for a while now. totally impressed with what I’m hearing from it.
