Value Engineered
Primus amplifier provides true Infinity performance at an affordable price while now lacking the features needed to properely tune and optimize performance.
Compact footprint
With it becoming more and more difficult to find spacious locations for amplifier mounting, Primus has been developed in a small compact form factor to allow more location versatility.
Full On-Board Protection
Primus amplifier has on-board circuitry to protect them from shorts, temperature, overvoltage and undervoltage. An LED indicator is inlcuded on all four models to let you know when one of these conditions exists.
Reliability
Infinity is one of the best selling car audio brands in the world. This is not a coincidence given the arduous testing and quality control. We take our craft seriously and want every consumer to have a world class experience that lasts and lasts.
Input Sensitivity
An input level control adjusts input sensitivity. When low level inputs are used, this control can adjust the input between 200mVrms and 5.0Vrms. When high level inputs are used, the control adjusts the input between 0.5Vrms and 15Vrms. This allows Primus amps to be conntected to virtually any factory system or serve as the foundation for a trophy-winning aftermarket competition system.
Switchable bass EQ
This provides an available bass boost at 45Hz of 6dB or 12dB, serving as a great tool to optimize subwoofer and loudspeaker performance based on location and enclosure type.
Cool industrial design
Black with grooved center panel, polished badge, black painted end panels and bottom.
Crossover mode switch
LPF crossover controls is switchable between 0dB to 12dB at 45 Hz giving user ability to adjust sound to the environment and/or application.
Crossover control gives user additional fine tuning
Adjusts the crossover turnover frequency between 32Hz and 320Hz. (One knob for each stereo pair.)

Features:
- Power Output: The Infinity Primus 6002a 2-channel amplifier delivers 60 watts RMS x 2 at 4 ohms, and 70 watts RMS x 2 at 2 ohms. The power output at 4 ohms bridged is 140 watts RMS x 1. The amp's total peak power is 280 watts.
- Protection Circuitry: The amplifier features protection circuitry for thermal overload, DC voltage on the audio output, over- or under-voltage (<9V or >16V), and short circuits. The LED on the end of the amp glows red if the amp goes into protection mode.
- Gain: The Primus 6002a's rotary gain control let you match the amp's input sensitivity to the output of the source unit. The input sensitivity range of the amplifier 0.2V - 5V for a line-level input, and 0.5V - 12V for speaker-level input. A small screwdriver (not included) is required to set the gain.
- Crossover: The amp features a switchable crossover that can be set to Low Pass, High Pass, or Full Range. If set to Low Pass or High Pass, the cutoff frequency can be set between 32Hz and 320Hz. The crossover has a 12dB per octave slope. A small screwdriver is required to adjust the frequency.
- Bass EQ: The amplifier's Bass EQ circuit lets you increase the bass output from 0dB to 12dB at 45Hz.
- Terminals: The Infinity Primus 6002a uses screw terminals for the +12V power, ground, turn-on (remote) lead, and speaker outputs. The screws can be tightened/loosened with a Phillips-head or flat-head screwdriver (not provided).
- Power/Ground: The +12V Power and Ground terminals will accept up to 4-gauge wire. It is recommended that you use a minimum of 10 AWG power wire to the battery, with an in-line 20A fuse installed no more than 18" from the battery terminal. A 10 AWG ground wire (minimum) is also recommended, and attached to a metal area close to the amplifier.
- Remote Turn-On: The Remote screw terminal will accept up to 8 AWG wire. Typically, an 18 AWG turn-on lead is included in an amplifier wiring kit.
- Speaker Outputs: The amp features screw terminals for connecting two speakers. The amplifier's minimum speaker impedance is 2 ohms in stereo or 4 ohms bridged.
- Speaker-Level Input: The amp includes a speaker-level input harness for connecting the amp to a factory radio or aftermarket head unit. You should splice left and right speaker wires from the head unit to the harness and plug the harness into the amp.
- Line-Level Inputs: The amplifier is equipped with one pair of RCA inputs for connecting stereo RCA patch cables from the head unit to the amp.
