Why Choose Kicker 46CXA18001t Mono Subwoofer Amplifier?
Marine-Grade Class D Amplifier with KickEQ™ Bass Boost
Built for harsh marine conditions, this amplifier features REAL MARINE™ construction with corrosion-resistant terminals, stainless-steel screws, and conformal-coated circuit boards. Its high-efficiency Class D design delivers maximum power without overheating, while the adjustable KickEQ™ Bass Boost (0–6 dB at 40 Hz) adds deeper, more impactful low-end.
Precision DSP Amplifier with Advanced Tuning
Featuring a variable 24 dB crossover for high-pass, low-pass, or band-pass configurations, this amplifier optimizes each speaker in your system. The DSP-controlled preamp ensures clear, distortion-free audio, while the gain control with “Gain Match” LED indicator makes setup simple by confirming the optimal input signal.
Marine Amplifier with Protected Controls and Expandable Design
This amplifier features a gasket-sealed control panel that shields gain, crossover, and bass-boost settings from water, dust, and corrosion while allowing easy adjustments. Full-range RCA outputs simplify system expansion, and the black anodized aluminum chassis with a top-mounted teal LED light pipe provides durability and style. Included stainless-steel mounting hardware ensures secure, corrosion-resistant installation.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- • Why won't my amplifier turn on after installation?
Check the battery power, ground connection, remote turn-on wire, and inline fuse first. A loose or incorrect connection is the most common cause of power issues.
- • Can I use this amplifier with any subwoofer?
Yes, as long as the subwoofer's impedance and RMS power handling match the amplifier's specifications. Proper matching helps maximize performance and prevent damage.
- • Why does the amplifier go into protection mode?
Protection mode is usually triggered by overheating, incorrect wiring, or a speaker load below the supported impedance. Inspect the wiring and allow the amplifier to cool before restarting it.
- • Why is my subwoofer not producing enough bass?
Incorrect gain, crossover, or bass boost settings can reduce output. Proper amplifier tuning and enclosure design are important for achieving strong bass.
- • Can I wire multiple subwoofers to this amplifier?
Yes, if the final impedance stays within the amplifier's supported range. Always calculate the total speaker load before making the connections.
- • Why does my amplifier get hot during normal use?
Amplifiers naturally generate heat while operating, especially at higher output levels. Make sure it has adequate ventilation and is not mounted in a confined space.
- • Why do I hear a whining noise that changes with engine speed?
This is usually caused by a grounding issue or signal interference. Improving the ground connection and separating RCA cables from power wires often solves the problem.
- • Do I need a capacitor with this amplifier?
Most installations do not require a capacitor if the vehicle's charging system is in good condition. Upgrading the battery or alternator is usually more beneficial for high-power systems.
- • Why does the bass sound distorted at high volume?
Distortion is commonly caused by excessive gain, clipping, or an overloaded subwoofer. Reduce the gain and ensure the amplifier is matched to the subwoofer's power rating.
- • Can I add another amplifier to my audio system later?
Yes. Many users add a second amplifier for door speakers while keeping a dedicated mono amplifier for the subwoofer.

i have 2 of these pushing 4 kicker comp q and they pound. this amp is a total beast. you gotta be careful tuning your subs and start with the gain completely off and slowly raise it. i know this amp is a little pricey but compared to what else is out there this amp is the best bang for your buck. How i measured the gain level was with the amount of volts its putting out so i dont blow/overpower my brand new subs. COMP Q is a badass sub also. gotta get ya a few of these

Hooked up with a 12-inch Kicker sub, and the sound quality is off the charts – handling my system like a champ. Being a bass-lover, I'm already planning to add another sub to the mix!

pushing a pair of 12 inch comp Qs and the subs sound great with the new amp. it's been more than a month now and i can surely hear the difference with the old amp. i'm just concerned with how hot it can get after a day of listening to music
