Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- • What type of enclosure works best for this subwoofer?
This subwoofer performs well in either a sealed or ported enclosure built to the recommended specifications. Choosing the correct enclosure helps maximize bass response and overall sound quality.
- • Why does the bass sound distorted at higher volume?
Distortion is commonly caused by amplifier clipping or gain settings that are too high. Proper amplifier tuning helps produce clean bass while protecting the subwoofer.
- • Can I use this with my factory stereo?
Yes, but a dedicated external amplifier is recommended for the best performance. Most factory stereos do not provide enough power to drive a component subwoofer properly.
- • Why is the bass output weaker than expected?
Improper enclosure size, incorrect wiring, or poor amplifier tuning can significantly reduce bass performance. Verify the installation before assuming the subwoofer is defective.
- • How should I wire the dual voice coils?
The wiring method depends on your amplifier's supported impedance. Follow the recommended series or parallel wiring diagram to achieve the correct final load.
- • Why do I hear rattling instead of clean bass?
Loose trunk panels, license plates, or enclosure hardware often create rattling noises. Tighten all mounting hardware and secure nearby vehicle components.
- • Does it require a break-in period?
Yes. Playing music at moderate volume for several hours allows the suspension to loosen naturally and improves bass performance over time.
- • Why does the subwoofer become hot after extended use?
Some heat is normal during high-power operation. Excessive heat may indicate amplifier clipping, overpowering, or poor enclosure ventilation.
- • Can I install two subwoofers on one amplifier?
Yes, provided the final impedance matches what your amplifier is designed to handle. Always follow the correct wiring configuration to avoid damaging your equipment.
- • Why does the bass change after moving the enclosure?
Subwoofer placement inside the vehicle affects how low frequencies interact with the cabin. Trying different positions can noticeably improve bass response and output.

The integrated inline crossover network allows for increased installation flexibility without the need of an outboard module. Included with the Pioneer A Series, are multi-fit installation adapters and tweeter mounts (when applicable).
- Linear, Balanced Motion: Linear, balanced motion in both the forward and reverse directions of cone movement is critical to accurate reproduction of recorded sound waves. Careful engineering of the entire motor structure and suspension system (voice coil, magnet, surround and spider) is required maintain a high level of linearity, even during high output / high excursion transients.

The subwoofer pushes real hard with my 750 watt amp, powerful and clear lows, happy with the Tundra upgrade.
-
Bought it to bring some bass on my Silverado. Love the deep lows from the sub. It was my first time buying an aftermarket sub, so I don’t have that much experience yet with subs but this would really be a great reference.
-
Good deep bass. But had more better subs before. Price is a huge point why I went with it. It offers great value for the performance

A true powerful 500 Watt sub. Really loud when cranked up. Lots of bass for the value. You can really feel when it delivers very low frequencies and its hard hitting.
