This is an excellent receiver with controls that are top notch. The addition of HD radio vs the 605 is worth the extra cost. However, the unit really shines when adding an amplifier to provide additional power to speakers.

easy to use, and what i loved is it is very responsive. Apple CarPlay and Android auto, wow and it also made my speakers sound better. great upgrade option to have and is totally worth it!

Just snagged this for my 5-year-old Wrangler. The touch screen is super responsive, and it's pumping up the stock speakers and Kicker sub with nice sound quality. Tons of options to tweak the sound just how you like it. And the Apple CarPlay? Smooth as butter!

Works on my speakers really well. They advised for me to get a KTA-450 as an amp for my speakers but I think this is good for now. Compatible with Carplay and Auto, which is nice especially that I am using both type of phones. Great unit from Alpine!

Nice sound quality from its built-in amp. Great features, which is as expected with Alpine receivers. However, its Apple Carplay is kinda limited as it not wireless. I think this is just my only complain with the receiver. I'm a messy guy when it comes to cables, so having a wireless feature would really help but I don't plan a new one anytime soon, and I'm very with how great the 407 is performing on my daily drive.
