Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- • Can I run four speakers and a subwoofer with this amplifier?
Yes, you can bridge two channels for a subwoofer while using the remaining channels for front speakers if the wiring matches the amplifier's specifications. Always verify the speaker impedance before bridging.
- • Why does the amplifier shut off after playing music for a while?
This usually happens because of overheating, improper wiring, or a low speaker impedance. Check the installation and make sure the amplifier has adequate airflow.
- • Is this powerful enough for aftermarket component speakers?
Yes, it delivers clean RMS power that works well with many premium component and coaxial speakers. Matching the amplifier's output to the speakers' RMS rating provides the best results.
- • Why do I hear a humming or whining noise through my speakers?
This is often caused by a poor ground connection or RCA cables routed too close to power wires. Improving the grounding point and separating the cables usually eliminates the noise.
- • Can I use the high-level inputs without a remote turn-on wire?
Yes, the amplifier features an automatic power-on circuit that detects signals through the high-level speaker inputs. This allows the unit to turn on and off in sync with your factory radio without requiring a separate remote lead.
- • Why do my speakers distort even though the volume isn't very high?
The gain may be set too high, or the source signal may already be clipping. Properly setting the gain and crossover filters will help produce cleaner sound.
- • What size fuse and power wire should I use?
Use the fuse rating and power cable size recommended in the owner's manual. Correct wiring ensures stable performance and helps protect the amplifier.
- • Can I bridge all four channels for maximum power?
No, the channels should only be bridged in the configurations specified by Alpine. Incorrect bridging can damage both the amplifier and your speakers.
- • Why does the amplifier become warm even at moderate volume?
It's normal for amplifiers to generate heat during operation. As long as the temperature stays within the normal operating range and the unit doesn't enter protection mode, this is expected.
- • Can I bridge the output channels for more power?
Yes, you can bridge the front and rear channels to drive two 300W RMS loads at 4 ohms for a subwoofer or a higher-power speaker configuration.

Nice lighting and cool compact design! Powerful 100watt per channel amp! True RMS!

Dude, this amp is the scary good! It's loud and even when cranked up, it doesn't overheat. The power this thing pumps out and the clarity of the signal send an awesome sound through the all the amp’s channels. Another great thing about the amp is that it offers plenty of customization too.

If you’re in with loud and powerful amps, the R2-A60F would be an excellent option. Aesthetics wise, the amp really has that cool look that looks like more than a 1000 bucks amp. Sound is so clean and has no distortion even when I tried to crank up the volume, but not really a fan of loud music so I just set it at less than half.

What a perfect fit for my truck! With the Alpine 6.5s , they really sound much clearer and even louder. Really took my sound system to the next level.
